Year 7 Physical Education

Autumn

In the Autumn Term P.E continues to further develop the pupils' understanding of invasion games through the sports of football, rugby and netball, with a focus on tactical awareness in game situations. Also pupils will be given the opportunity to enhance their creativity through the medium of dance. Within this module pupils respond and give feedback about the performance of others and themselves to enhance their movement patterns.

Spring

In P.E. this term we challenge the pupils to use new concepts within sporting situations. They will start to lead small groups and be given the opportunity to coach their peers through the sports of basketball, hockey, handball and health related fitness. Team sports will allow pupils to apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending. Pupils will also participate in gymnastics, allowing them to develop their basic agility skills together to perform sequences.

Summer

In P.E. this term we challenge the pupils to use new concepts within sporting situations. They will start to lead small groups and be given the opportunity to coach their peers through the sports of athletics, cricket and rounders. Pupils are given the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the games through officiating and coaching.
