From the 11th to the 15th November, Parkside supported Anti-Bullying week. All the children embraced the key theme 'Change Starts With Us' by participating in a variety of activities.
On Tuesday 12th November, we marked Odd Socks Day, a national campaign organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. Both staff and pupils got on board with this – a big thank you for the support. The aim of the Odd Socks was to celebrate uniqueness and difference.
The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors had a key role to play in the week, leading assemblies and giving shout outs for acts of kindness.
On Friday afternoon, to mark the end of the week, the children all took part in different activities as part of their PSHE and Thrive sessions, ranging from creating odd socks and posters, to creating dances and songs to portray the messages learnt across the week. The pupils really invested in the week and came up with some good suggestions as to what more we, as a school and a community, can do to tackle issues of bullying.
A big thank you to everyone for your participation and support.
